On Friday, April 26, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 1000 block of Ira Drive in Montvale in reference to a report of a shooting. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Kulpreet Singh of Mechanicsburg PA had allegedly gotten into an altercation with a resident of Ira Drive. During the argument, Singh allegedly produced a handgun and fired multiple shots at the subject. The victim fled the scene prior to arrival of deputies. The victim was identified by his girlfriend as Collin Walker of Montvale. Walker contacted his girlfriend by text stating that he had been shot and was going to the hospital for treatment as well as texted a photograph of what is consistent with a gunshot wound. The Sheriff’s Office made numerous attempts to contact Mr. Walker unsuccessfully. As of press time, Mr. Walker has not attempted to communicate with local law enforcement or been seen at any area medical facility. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
Kulpreet Singh has been arrested for one count of malicious wounding and one count of reckless handling of a firearm. He is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
